Please note: this binding is currently away for exhibit with the Designer Bookbinders Festival Bindings that will take place 10-29 August in the National Library of Scotland, Edinburgh. Delivery will occur after the binding has returned from exhibit, or pick up may be possible from the exhibition venue at the end of the run.

Inspired by the wild colours of the Hebridean seas, this binding brings the blues and greens of Scottish waters to life through hand-painted endpapers, dyed leather spine with matching joints, and silk endbands. The colours continue layered beneath the semi-translucent parchment. Incised lines on the reverse of the parchment mirror the woodcut illustrations within, a visual thread between the cover and the text.

Stub binding with painted endpapers and hand sewn silk endbands. Off boards binding with Scottish roe deer parchment over boards and dyed Fair Goat spine from Hewits. The parchment was made in Scotland using traditional tanning methods with limestone and bark.
