Bookbinding at Mackintosh at the Willow

Event Date:

18 October 2025

Event Time:

10:30 am

Event Location:

Mackintosh at the Willow

I am a huge fan of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, and I am very excited to once again teach a day long workshop at the beautifully and faithfully restored Mackintosh at the Willow.

During our day spent in this charming venue we will hand bind books with covers inspired by the iconic Glasgow Style, referencing book designs from Mackintosh and contemporaries such as Talwin Morriss, Ethel Larcombe, and Margaret MacDonald.

We’ll be spoiled culinarily as well as by the visual delights of our surrounds, as we take a midday break from making our books to enjoy a soup and sandwich lunch in the tea room.

Fee includes lunch, tour, materials needed, and tools to use for the day. No experience is necessary, though those with some experience in bookbinding are very welcome.

If you have any food allergies or access requirements, please contact me as soon as possible so we can make required arrangements.

Please note this class is not suitable for children.
